夏の想い Summer thoughts

Lying on our backs on the balmy beach
Looking up at the sky above, the beautiful sky

But that’s just a reminiscence; yearning for the irreversible times

Playing under the sun, getting splashed by the waves
Wanting to sing with the gulls that soar across the cloud-embellished summer sky

But that’s just the past; there’s nothing but the sea; you are not here anymore

Even though I know that we have to part ways
I probably cannot help by cry
One day, you will no longer be around
After all, such is inevitable

But I’ve decided that I won’t cry
Because I’ll surely be able to meet you again
That’s why, if you can wait just a little longer
We’ll definitely meet each other

Even though you are not by my side now
We are looking at the same azure
Even if you’re on the coast on the far other side
We are connected by this vast sky

We’ll definitely meet each other again

Usually my proses are written in English first, then translated to Japanese. This is because my native language is English, which means I write more lively in English than in Japanese. On the other hand, my poetries are written in Japanese first, then translated to English. This is because Japanese is a language with multitudinous expressions about pulchritudinous and transcendent nature, relative to dastardly ostentatiously convoluted English.
